Sentiment on DAX 30 declines amid global turmoil
Quoted financial analysts, July 1, 2015 – July 18, 2016
New York, July 22, 2016. Quoted financial analysts having been sharing negative sentiment on DAX 30 companies in the wake of the Brexit vote and global market turmoil, according to new research from Awareness Metrics, powered by Media Tenor International.
“Quoted financial analysts have focused most of their attention on a few key DAX 30 companies with international visibility, including VW, Deutsche Bank, and SAP,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “Outsized visibility for these companies means that they have a large impact on overall sentiment for the DAX 30 group. Because of this, VW’s emissions scandal has added some negative distortion to the group,” adds Maltese. “Concerns about globalization and regulation in the wake of the Brexit vote have increased analyst negativity on DAX 30 companies overall in the last four weeks.”
Quoted financial analysts did provide hints on which DAX 30 companies were the best investments, however. “Companies avoiding business in the U.S., U.K., and Russia fared better,” says Maltese. “There was also strong positivity when possibilities in Iran were commented on.”
This research examined all 59,090 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media July 1, 2015 – July 18, 2016.
