Barclays wins Media Tenor's Financial Expert Award
EMBARGOED UNTIL 6PM, OCTOBER 23
Berlin. October 23, 2013. Barclays was honored today as the winner of Media Tenor’s Financial Expert Award presented at a ceremony held at the German parliament during the 14th International Agenda Setting Conference in Berlin.
The Media Tenor Financial Expert Award recognizes the financial expert or analyst firm that has provided the most useful and comprehensive information on financial markets and investment objects during the award year. For the period July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013, 184,854 quoted analyst statements in ten opinion-leading business media were evaluated according to ten critera to determine the winner.
The ten criteria were: Share of statements on companies as investment objects; share of statements on equity markets; share of statements on bond markets; share of statements on currency markets; share of statements on gold; share of statements on real estate; share of statements on investment objects outside of prices and yields; number of analyzed media quoting each analyst firm; share of statements focusing outside of the home market of each analyst firm; and the share of statements focusing on the future.
Barclays’s significant visibility, quotation in diverse media, and strong focus on both currency markets and gold helped to propel it to its first place standing. Deutsche Bank’s analysts placed as the first runner-up on diverse coverage of a range of investment objects. Citigroup and Thomson Reuters tied as second runner-ups.
