October 23, 2013 – Oxford and the London School of Economics received the Media Tenor University Award 2013 at a ceremony held at the German parliament during the 14th International Agenda Setting Conference in Berlin today. The award honors those universities that achieve an outstanding presence in international TV news media based on volume of coverage, the tone of the reporting, and the richness of the issues addressed.

Out of all universities and research institutes that were covered in the news, 20 qualified as nominees for the Media Tenor Award.
The examined categories were: Volume of coverage; tone of coverage; diversity of topics; presence of expertise quoted in the media; share of voice; share of forward-looking reports; share of key topics such as R&D, science, technology, and innovation; volume of coverage for products and services; and share of presence in media outside of the home market.
