Investment opportunities suggested in U.K. stocks compared to the U.S.
Quoted financial analysts, Jan 1, 2015 – Jun 30, 2015
New York, July 3, 2015. Optimism is increasing on the most visible U.K. stocks, while in the U.S. analysts remain focused on Google and Apple, according to new research from Media Tenor International.
“The universe of analysts quoted on U.K. and U.S. stocks differs significantly,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “This, along with national champions in different industries, presents these two markets in a starkly different light that suggests more investment opportunities in the U.K.”
While coverage of Google and Apple was significant, analysts were only cautiously optimistic. With high share prices, opportunity was framed as limited, and limited quotation was offered on the future, making it challenging for investors to act.
“Quoted analysts are more focused on forecasting regarding U.K. stocks,” says Maltese. “Opportunity regarding undervalued companies, as well as those that have struggled in the past, was visible amid a volatile media environment concerned about possible repercussions throughout Europe on the Greek default.”
This research examined all 27,661 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – June 25, 2015.
