Long-term optimism on NASDAQ 100 remains despite rough patch for some

Quoted financial analysts, January 1, 2015 – August 4, 2015

New York, August 7, 2015. Quoted financial analysts remain strongly optimistic on NASDAQ 100 stocks despite recent wobbles from Google, Apple, Biogen and others, according to new research from research institute Media Tenor International.

“Analysts have some concerns about the major NASDAQ 100 companies right now,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “Google’s admission of defeat on Google Plus, some distribution challenges on the Apple Watch, and talk of a takeover at Biogen have generated current risk, but the future-focused statements are mostly positive,” Maltese added. “The analyst message seems to be that good returns are ahead for those who are willing to stick out this rough patch.”

Apple dominated coverage of the NASDAQ 100, and the constituent members of the index had a positive image on most global business activities. Heavy criticism of Vodafone’s financial performance and stock price depressed the image of the index regarding the U.K., however.

This research examined all 32,988 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – August 4, 2015
