Emerging markets seen as a positive risk despite currency upheaval

Quoted financial analysts, January 1, 2015 – August 13, 2015

New York, August 14, 2015. Quoted financial analysts remain firmly optimistic on emerging markets, despite some cautions driven by the recent devaluation of the yuan and the impact of commodity price fluctuations long-term, according to new research from Media Tenor International.

“Quoted financial analysts are generally positive on the emerging markets, but emphasize emerging market investment is not for everyone,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “Generally, they are more favorable towards companies founded and operating in emerging markets, than those from developed markets that try to expand into the emerging space.  Additionally, there’s a good mix of analysts – both those from boutique firms in the emerging world and those from international investment houses based in the developed world – looking at emerging markets.”

Investors may want to keep their eyes on Iran, as Media Tenor’s findings highlight keen interest in that market from analysts should the nuclear deal go through.

This research examined all 33,918 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – August 13, 2015
