Enthusiasm for tech may be starting to wane

Quoted financial analysts, January 1, 2015 – September 9, 2015

New York, September 11, 2015. Despite overall positivity on technology companies, quoted financial analyst enthusiasm for tech investing may be waning, according to new research from Media Tenor International.

“Country by country, the image of tech companies is very favorable, with the U.S. and India leading,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “However, in August and early September, analysts have turned negative on some of the most visible tech companies with concerns about competition, product quality, and high share prices.”

Analysts have also provided fewer future-oriented statements. Those that were visible were less positive than earlier in the year, suggesting we are entering a period where technology investors can most benefit from maintaining current holdings but avoiding further technology investment until share prices come down.

This research examined all 38,116 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – September 9, 2015.
