Clinton retains media lead despite risks

U.S. TV & print news, November 5 - 12, 2015

New York, November 14, 2015. Hillary Clinton has the advantage going into tonight’s Democratic debate, despite negativity in her media image, according to new research from Media Tenor International.

“As the front-runner, Clinton continues to face negative coverage from a range of media,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “However, with visibility almost twice that of her nearest challenger, Bernie Sanders, she continues to have the advantage by being well above the awareness threshold and being a familiar face.”

Media Tenor has found that Bernie Sanders continues to generate positive coverage as he exceeds pundits’ expectations, but doubt remains about his ability to win the nomination or the general election.

This research examined all 1,045 reports on political figures on three U.S. TV news programs and in eight print publications from November 5 - 12, 2015.
