Analyst enthusiasm for IT companies growing

Quoted financial analysts, January 1, 2015 – February 18, 2016

New York, February 20, 2016. Quoted financial analysts have become more positive on IT companies, and sentiment related to the future of the sector suggests a lower risk environment for investors going forward, according to new research from Media Tenor International.

“Analysts have been positive overall on IT for some time,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “But there have been wobbles in the past 13 months. After a sentiment low in December 2015, recovery is clearly underway. Current analyst sentiment suggests risk will drop in the future, strengthening opportunity for risk-adverse investors.”

Quoted financial analysts offered a variable tone when it came to region, with a strongly mixed tone in Asia and elsewhere.

Analysts were most enthusiastic on companies that offer physical products, but positive sentiment was also visible for software producers and Internet firms.

This research examined all 63,152 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – February 18, 2016.
