Cautious analysts see opportunity in recovering car industry

Quoted financial analysts, January 1, 2015 – February 25, 2016

New York, February 27, 2016. Quoted financial analysts see opportunities in the car industry but are cautious on the sector in the wake of the emissions scandal and the slowdown in China, according to new research from Media Tenor International. Enthusiasm on production and sales drove the positive sentiment.

“Analysts have a much more positive sentiment on cars now than they did in September, October, and November. Even VW, which was the center of the emissions scandal, is now framed as a potential opportunity by financial analysts,” says Racheline Maltese, a researcher at Media Tenor. “Caution is clear, however, and analysts are focusing on a different group of companies now than in 2016.”

Quoted financial analysts were cautious on the U.S. and indicated high levels of risk in many Asian markets, including China, Vietnam, and South Korea.

This research examined all 64,357 analyst statements in eight opinion-leading business media January 1, 2015 – February 25, 2016.
